CORRECTED (for those who try to make cry around and make accusations about Sequoyah just because they are good) The Lady Indians have dominated in their summer ball play. They went 21-2 throughout this summer with their 2 losses going to Booker T and Sapulpa, BUT they were without their #1 girl, Angel Goodrich, in those 2 games. When Angel came back, and they played those 2 teams again, they beat both teams handedly. They attended a team camp at TU then played games at Sapulpa and East Central. They then attended the University of Tennessee team camp, where they went undefeated against some of the best teams in the US. They were first placed in the small school level where they dominated. They then were bumped up to the large school level where they once again dominated. They were then picked to play 2 top AAU teams (Michigan Fire and Illinios Lady Titans). They beat both teams with ease. Tennessee Women's Basketball Head Coach Pat Summit was quoted as saying (about the Lady Indians), "You guys don't look like much until you get out on the floor. You do what you do very well." (Info came from the Tahlequah Daily Press) Just a little note: Coach Summit called Coach Nobles to inquire about Angel Goodrich during the 2005 season (Angel's freshman season). Angel has stated in an article a while back that she has always wanted to play for Coach Summit, but is also looking at OU and OSU.

As you can see, I corrected what I typed so people like you can't make false accusations about SHS. Get over it, the Lady Indians are good right now... quit whining.

Where did they bring Mariah Norwood in from? Not whining either- just one of many that would like to see them held to the same rules the rest of the schools play by. I do agree that they are a great team - I like watching them play.

CORRECTED-I have no idea where she came from because I'd never heard of her until I read her name in the Cherokee Nation paper. Neither the CN paper or Tahlequah Daily Press stated where she was from.

From Talequah Daily Press: Nobles and his team are now looking forward to making a run at the state title for a third year in a row, and Nobles said he will have some help coming along. Along with the freshman group moving up, he will have a new face in the line up next season. Mariah Norwood will transfer in as a junior, and Nobles said that she will help the main core of the team and is a welcome addition to the lineup. Kinzey Hall also had a good summer for the Lady Indians. She will also contribute to the team next season according to Nobles. He hopes with the addition of these two along with Goodrich, who is touted as the best feemale player in the state, the team will be playing for a third straight championship.
We all knew Hall was brought in last year and sit out because of a "questionable move". Norwood must have been brought in from out of state.

I know why Kinsey Hall transferred to Sequoyah. She met and played summer ball with Angel during the summer of 2005. She heard about the Lady Indians and wanted to be a part of that. I don't know anything about Mariah Norwood. I've tried to find something on her, but haven't been able to.

Yor forgot to mention that when TS beat Sapulpa the second time Sapulpa was playing without Brewer... she was at the K-state camp...

Sapulpa only beat the Lady Indians (minus Angel) by very few points when they had Alyssia Brewer. When Angel came back, they beat Sapulpa (minus Brewer) 30+ points (according to the newspaper). Are you saying it would have been closer with Brewer? It probably would have, but I believe the Indians would still have came out on top with a double digit win.

Okay. If she TRANSFERS in, then by OSSAA rules she has to set out a year. What a waste of a junior year. If she moved in then she is all good to play. What do you know about the Michigan Fire?? They are NOT a REALLY GOOD aau team. Don't know about the other team. But, I do know about them. I did watch the teams play in the TU league. TS doesn;t have much besides Angel. They were thumped on. Sapulpa started just messing around the second half. With Angel they did put it on Sapulpa but, that was without Brewer. In my opinion I would have to say top three were: 1)Sapulpa, 2)T-Seq, 3)BTW. A bunch from Shiloah looked real good as well. I do have to say congrats to Angel though and she is one studette on the basketball court. I am betting she ends up at OU though. Southeast teams seem to put more emphesis on size and power then shooting and finesse. She is going to help out any college she goes to. Also know her grades are fantastic!! It is going to be fun watching her in 3A or 4A. Now is Norwood the Tecumsah girl? I heard they had the stud from there that went to the TS camp and she "all of a sudden" decided to move to TS. It will be interesting to see what happens with the ADM when it is released. I also heard from some other people in the stands during one of the games that some of the TS girls that made the team have decided to go back to Stilwell? What is up with that? I heard a var player and some freshman. I think they have a new coach this year. I think he is actually native, so maybe that is it. I saw them play SS and they look like they are going to change some things up this year. I think they were missing some players though. Lost by a little but couldn't buy a freethrow or they could've won big. I heard that they were playing TS in the tourney but, TS ended up leaving.

Well, I was just going by what the newspaper said.
Well, both SHS-T and Sapulpa must really depend on their #1 girls because without Angel, SHS-T got beat by Sapulpa and BTW, but with Angel, they thumped both teams by 30+ points (Sapulpa without Brewer). SHS-T has good players, but Angel really brings it out in them when she's on the court. I don't know anything about their new transfer Mariah Norwood. Kensey Hall transfered to SHS-T last year, and, yes, she did sit her whole junior year out.

Yes. They both rely on them a lot. However, Sapulpa was missing two other starters as well. Booker T had thier whole bunch thier. TS Killed them and made them like it. Yeah, I remembered Hall had to sit out last year. I couldn't believe she did that. Doesn't sound worth it to me. you only have one high school career. However, I hope things will work out for her.

Well, I don't know who is a better team, Sequoyah or Sapulpa, and we'll probably never know. I do know that Sequoyah (when they have the guardian "Angel") can compete with any team regardless of class.

Brewer was never there when sapulpa played SHS.She was gone both times once when they played at Sapulpa and at the TU camp. And she wasnt at the K-State camp she was in Hawaii with her Nike team.So i dont know who thought she was up in Kansas.

Doesn't matter now. She was where she was and she wasn't where she wasn't.
