With Kirk Fridrich leaving after one season at the helm of the Rams and Ron Lancaster most likely taking the job at Broken Arrow, who do you think Owasso will hire as their new head coach? Do they go west and not worry about the east-west politics? Hire from within? Who do you think will get the job?

I think they will interview a guy who is a former asst, coached in TX, and now a HC at a OK 5A school. One of you Owasso guys will probably know who I am talking about. I am not saying he is hired...just that he might be a potential hire.

Whitson - no, they don't want to appear to be taking BA's castoff.
Cocannouer - why would he?
Peters/Whaley - same as Cocannouer.
Spavital - good chance, if they are a good fit.
This is a really challenging position to fill. Facing Jenks and Muskogee every year in district, also probably playing Union and/or BA, as well. It's like taking a job in the SEC.
My guess is either elevating someone from within in an attempt to maintain continuity, or getting a successful 5A coach who is willing to try his hand at a large school program. Not likely to attract a current 6A head coach unless there is one who has overachieved at a smaller 6A school who could be attracted by the many good things available at Owasso.
Knowing nothing more about Pat McGrew other than the recent success at Bixby, I would say he might be a good candidate. On the other hand, Bixby is one of the fastest growing cities in the state, and BHS will be 6A in a year or two. There's plenty of money there, and facilities, etc., are bound to improve over the next few years.

Pratt? nawwwwww
1) Tempest if he will stay and not go with Fred 2) Jay Wilkerson from Metro 3) Darren Melton from Lincoln
My top 3 ......... whatever that means to the situation.

Your top 3 would be pretty accurate in my opinion..since you probably have Dr. O's number in your cell phone! Tempest would probably luv the chance to head coach you Rams. Wilkerson is looking for a reason to get out of Metro-ville. I'll go with whatever "yerout" says....he has the inside track...

Fridrich gets to assign his entire staff, therefore you can bet alot of Owasso coaches will end up at Union.

Must be nice to be able to grant him that......Union does have the capacity to bring in coaches and find places for them without disrupting the other staff. I wonder how many of the "old" Union guys he will bring back. They have some good ones.

Well most of them resigned, its really sad to see them go considering theyre such a big part of Union as I knew it, but its understandable as to why they left. Maybe a few will come back? I dont know, I know most of them know Fridrich rather well.

Why isn't Calip going to Louisville? I saw in the paper today that he is one of many TU assistants that will likely be out of a job. I wonder why Kragthorpe wouldn't take those guys with him?

Doubt that is the reason. Could be for now... She has Sapulpa in a prime position to win state this year.
