I heard a rumor that T-Sequoyah may move up to 4A next year. Anyone else know anything about this?

I haven't heard this rumor, but I'm sure they would welcome the new challengers if this did happen, and I'm sure the rest of 3A (girls mostly) would breathe a sigh of relief.

I agree. The TS girls would probably be the favorite to win 4A...and there are a couple of other young 3A girls teams that were already going to contend next year. Both Adair and Verdigris will probably be stronger next year. However, if they do move up, I'm afraid the boys have seen their last gold ball.

Well, I agree with you on everything but the boys. If they can play together like I KNOW they can (and Mr. Soap learns to pass the ball more), they may be able to contend. They have a lot of talent on that team, and they showed sparks of that during the playoffs this season.

There is just alot bigger difference between the "big" classes and the "little" classes for boys than there are for girls.

Well, yeah, but Sequoyah boys also played alot of those "bigger" schools (4A, 5A, & 6A) this year, and have they played as they did during the playoffs, their record may have been different or the scores would have looked better. People just didn't look at who they played and the difference between the start of the season to the finish. Well, they didn't play good at State, but they played exceptionally well in playoffs.

I asked about this rumor on Coaches Aid. I was informed by a couple of people that schools are won't know if they are being re-classified until July or later. That is when the ADM(?), something to do with the # of students attending each school, is sent to OSSAA(?). I may have worded that wrong, but what it comes down to is NO ONE will know if SHS-T will be moving up or not until July or later.

I heard another rumor today that Sequoyah-Tah Administration is petitioning the OSSAA to be moved up to Class 4A in basketball. I could see them doing that. They get a lot of outside criticism... the private school issue... even though SHS-T is NOT a private school.

From what I read on another post in CA, schools can no longer petition OSSAA to be moved up a class, so according to that, SHS-T will still be 3A next year unless they grow considerably next year. Sorry Class 3A!!!

Well, I haven't heard anymore about SHS-T moving up, so I'm guessing 3A will just have to deal with them another year.

Sorry Class 3A, but Sequoyah will be staying another year. The 06-07 ADM came out and SHS-T will still be 3A.

I am so ready for basketball season. I seen the 06-07 schedule the other day. It seemed pretty much the same as last year, but Holland Hall was thrown in the mix. I believe the Girls' Oklahoma's Best of the Best will be held December 7-9 this year. I remember seeing the list of what teams would be playing, but I can't remember them all. I do know that Sapulpa, East Central and Sequoyah-Tah were listed. I'll try to find that list and get back to ya'll...

Here is a list of the teams that will be competing in the Best of the Best (Girls) at TU Reynolds Center... Sapulpa, East Central, Ft. Gibson, Metro Christian, Collinsville, Sequoyah-Tah, Pocola and Hulbert. Have any predictions? I only know about the Sequoyah-Tah team. If they have the same girls they did this summer, then all teams should watch out. They lost some good players to graduation, but they gained a few with the new transfers, sophomores and freshman. If I understood right, they are going to be better on the inside and with more height.
